4 Simple Ways To Detox Your Body From GMO's

GMOs ( genetically modified organisms) are hidden all throughout the U.S and world food supply. Although some people try avoiding them, it is not as easy as it seems considering there are GMOs almost everywhere such as in restaurants, and even snacks from a vending machine. Even when you take supplements, if they do not clearly state, that the products do not have GMOs in them, you are more than likely in fact putting them into your body. Knowing that the a lot of the food supply across the world has GMOs is rather frightening, but you are be able to detox your body from them.

There are many GMO foods out there that have been studied, resulting in some terrifying results. With effects ranging from something as simple as weight gain, to more serious effects such as organ disruption and massive tumors. Only the surface has been scratched when it comes to the possible but serious effects of these lab-created foods. These are reasons why it is extremely important to cleanse and detoxify your body as often as possible. The first step in ensuring that you do not experience the effects would be to completely keep GMO foods out of your diet. But since the GMO foods cannot be totally avoided for most, detoxing yourself is another route you should take.

Below are four easy ways to detox GMOs from your body.

1. Increased Fiber Consumption

One of the best ways to make sure that your body is getting rid of things which it has no use for ( heavy metals, GM-toxins and food additives) is having a diet with high-fiber. This can be accomplished by eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and grains. You can also occasionally detoxify your body with psyllium husk.

Psyllium husks are portions of the seeds of the plant Plantago Ovata, a native of Pakistan and India. It creates a form of gel that, when consumed with plenty of water, will flush out the digestive tract, essentially taking all lingering toxins along. You can find organic psyllium husk at most health food stores or online.

2.Consume Probiotics and Fermented Foods

Your digestive system should be well-equipped for dealing with foreign invaders like GMOs and other toxins. When you eat fermented foods and consume probiotics, you are creating a healthy bacterial balance, making sure that your "gut bacteria" has the ablility to break down and erase harmful substances contained in your diet. By consuming probiotics, you are helping your body detox the Bt-toxin found in GMOs.

3.Organic Sulfur

Jonathan Benson from NaturalNews has suggested organic sulfor as a must-have in order to detox the liver. He calls the substance, which is also known as Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), "a critical component in detoxification, energy production, cell oxygenation, and immune capacity." Although it used to be found throughout the food supply, it has fallen by the wayside with "advances" in agriculture. Now, you can find organic, lignin-based sulfor crystals to help make up for the loss.

4. Detoxifying Herbs

A few great herbs that can help make sure the GM foods do not wreak havoc on your body are, Cascara Sagrada and Wild Burdock Root. Cascara Sagrada is a cleansing herb, it is one that has been used for years among indigenous people. It cleans out your digestive system and ensures you healthy elimination. The Wild Burdock Root also has a cleansing property, however, it works in a different way. It is a diuretic and is catagorized as a blood-cleanser. A diuretic is any substance that promotes the production of urine. Avoiding genetically modified foods should be your first line of defense. But you should create a body healthy enough to fight off those that do get in which is important as well. By regularly cleansing and detoxing your body, it will help you avoid the negative effects of GMOs and other modern food additives.

David Suzuki says, GMOs Are A Massive Experiment On Humans.

For years and years, people including scientists, doctors, professional researchers, and multiple pubic figures have been speaking about GMOs and the hazards they contain. After much time, our efforts to ban GMOs looks promising. Most countries in the world have already banned GMOs for good. Just recently the big island of Hawaii also passed a law banning any biotech companies such as Monsanto from operating on the land. Leaving many of us wondering, when will the rest of North America follow? Geneticist David Suzuki has been a long time advocate against GMOs, and has been speaking out about how they can be harmful to human health as well as the environment. It is time to wake up and realize we can not trust branches of the government that deal with food and health. Suzuki believes we as humans are part of a massive experiment.

It is clear that GMOs are extremely hazardous and should not be consumed. This large movement across the globe is not simply based on belief. There have been multiple studies by scientists and researchers all across the earth, with results showing that GMOs truly are harmful. According to the Journal of Hematology and Thromboembolic Diseases, Bt toxins found in Monsanto crops can damage red blood cells, potentially causing leukemia. A range of studies also show that GMO crops have been linked to multiple cases of cancer and other diseases.

Here is a video with Geneticist David Suzuki on GMOs.

Below is an article also written by David Suzuki, alongside Faisal Moola on GMOs.

In gearing up for the 2010 release of its super-genetically modified corn called ‘SmartStax’, agricultural-biotechnology giant Monsanto is using an advertising slogan that asks, ‘Wouldn’t it be better?’ But can we do better than nature, which has taken millennia to develop the plants we use for food?
We don’t really know. And that in itself is a problem. The corn, developed by Monsanto with Dow AgroSciences, “stacks” eight genetically engineered traits, six that allow it to ward off insects and two to make it resistant to weed-killing chemicals, many of which are also trademarked by Monsanto. It’s the first time a genetically engineered (GE) product has been marketed with more than three traits.
Canada approved the corn without assessing it for human health or environmental risk, claiming that the eight traits have already been cleared in other crop seeds — even though international food-safety guidelines that Canada helped develop state that stacked traits should be subject to a full safety assessment as they can lead to unintended consequences.
One problem is that we don’t know the unintended consequences of genetically engineered or genetically modified (GM) foods. Scientists may share consensus about issues like human-caused global warming, but they don’t have the same level of certainty about the effects of genetically modified organisms on environmental and human health!
A review of the science conducted under the International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development in 2008 concluded that “there are a limited number of properly designed and independently peer-reviewed studies on human health” and that this and other observations “create concern about the adequacy of testing methodologies for commercial GM plants.”
Some have argued that we’ve been eating GM foods for years with few observable negative consequences, but as we’ve seen with things like trans fats, if often takes a while for us to recognize the health impacts. With GM foods, concerns have been raised about possible effects on stomach bacteria and resistance to antibiotics, as well as their role in allergic reactions. We also need to understand more about their impact on other plants and animals.
Of course, these aren’t the only issues with GM crops. Allowing agro-chemical companies to create GM seeds with few restrictions means these companies could soon have a monopoly over agricultural production. And by introducing SmartStax, we are giving agro-chemical companies the green light not just to sell and expand the use of their “super crops” but also to sell and expand the use of the pesticides these crops are designed to resist.
A continued reliance on these crops could also reduce the variety of foods available, as well as the nutritive value of the foods themselves.
There’s also a reason nature produces a variety of any kind of plant species. It ensures that if disease or insects attack a plant, other plant varieties will survive and evolve in its place. This is called biodiversity.
Because we aren’t certain about the effects of GMOs, we must consider one of the guiding principles in science, the precautionary principle. Under this principle, if a policy or action could harm human health or the environment, we must not proceed until we know for sure what the impact will be. And it is up to those proposing the action or policy to prove that it is not harmful.
That’s not to say that research into altering the genes in plants that we use for food should be banned or that GM foods might not someday be part of the solution to our food needs. We live in an age when our technologies allow us to “bypass” the many steps taken by nature over millennia to create food crops to now produce “super crops” that are meant to keep up with an ever-changing human-centred environment.
A rapidly growing human population and deteriorating health of our planet because of climate change and a rising number of natural catastrophes, among other threats, are driving the way we target our efforts and funding in plant, agricultural, and food sciences, often resulting in new GM foods.
But we need more thorough scientific study on the impacts of such crops on our environment and our health, through proper peer-reviewing and unbiased processes. We must also demand that our governments become more transparent when it comes to monitoring new GM crops that will eventually find their ways in our bellies through the food chain.
