Large biotech companies such as Syngenta, Monsanto, Pioneer, Dow and BASF have been experimenting with GMO crops and seeds in Hawaii for a long period of time. They have farms on the islands of Oahu, Kauai and Molokai, but they've never worked on Hawaii's Big Island. According to the bill passed on Tuesday they will never get the chance too either.
